Police Communication Operator

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to work as a Police Communication Operator in a dynamic environment that is committed to providing exceptional client-focused services.

The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills, be able to remain calm under pressure, and have a genuine desire to assist the community when they need it most.

  1. Answer Triple Zero (000) emergency calls for service from the public in challenging situations.
  2. Accurately record important time-critical information from callers.
  3. Identify and allocate resources to life-threatening or significant situations.
  4. Accurately relay information to operational police officers.

This role requires shift work, including weekends and public holidays. In return, you will enjoy a competitive salary, generous superannuation, and leave loading.

You will also have access to career training and development opportunities, including a comprehensive training program consisting of three phases:

  • Phase 1: Foundations (4 weeks) - Onboarding and basic incident creation.
  • Phase 2: Call Taking (7 weeks) - Receiving 000 phone calls and complex incident creation.
  • Phase 3: Dispatch (7 weeks) - Continuous monitoring, channel control, officer safety, dispatching, updating, and finalizing incidents.
