About our Telecoms Engineer role:

We are seeking a skilled Principal Telecoms Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Australia.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, integrating, and implementing communications infrastructure projects across various platforms. This includes IP/MPLS transport networks, radio sites, voice and data communication systems, fibre optic and copper-based transmission systems, and associated ancillary subsystems.

  • Develop detailed design documentation, including architecture diagrams, network design reports, and integration procedures.
  • Configure, integrate, and test network equipment across multi-vendor platforms, primarily Cisco and Juniper routing and switching infrastructure.
  • Perform site and factory acceptance testing, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and network migration activities.
  • Lead fault isolation, network diagnostics, and root cause analysis across transport and access layers.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Network Engineer with hands-on design, configuration, and integration experience in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Cisco CCNP and/or Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field), eligible for or holding full membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on implementation experience with Cisco MPLS, BGP, and OSPF technologies, as well as Cisco Nexus platforms, including vPC, VDC, and data center architecture design.
