We are currently seeking a skilled Painter/Finisher to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of painting and varnishing procedures, as well as experience working with wood, including wood repairs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare for finishing, filling, masking and sanding timber and GRP with a range of different grit wet or dry paper, using orbital sanders.
  • French Polishing to and repairs to finished cabins and other boat furniture.
  • Hand applying finishes on solid and veneered timber products - using water-based lacquers, paints and hard wax oils.
  • Working daily with many solid hardwoods and veneered timber products, offering a range of different varnished finishes.
  • Occasional spraying on timber and GRP – using Polyurethane and Epoxy paint systems.
  • Carrying out smart repairs where necessary – using Konig smart repair system.
  • Health and safety, ensuring the correct PPE is being used when working, and understanding of paint system's requirements.
  • Occasional external painting of hulls for anti-fouling and deck superstructure finishing.
Requirements:
  • Good working knowledge of painting and varnishing procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience working with wood including wood repairs.
  • Wide experience in French Polishing techniques.
  • Smart repair experience desirable but not essential.
  • Marine experience desirable but not essential.
