Motor Mechanic Job Description

As a skilled Motor Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of vehicles by performing scheduled maintenance services, repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, and detecting faults in engines and parts.

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups to achieve optimal vehicle performance.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or defective parts, reassembling mechanical components with reference to service manuals as needed.
  • Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts with the assistance of computer systems.
  • Disassembling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, inspecting parts for damage or wear.
  • Inspecting and repairing suspension, brake, and wheel alignment systems on automotive vehicles.
  • Reassembling engines and parts following repair, ensuring accurate and efficient restoration.
  • Managing inventory levels, ordering stock as required, and maintaining tools, equipment, and machinery in good condition.
  • Providing exceptional customer service at all times, demonstrating a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers.
  • Maintaining adherence to health and safety regulations and environmental standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Completed Certificate III in Automotive and minimum 1 year full-time work experience as a Motor Mechanic, including 1 year experience with hybrid vehicles.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Results-driven individual with a strong desire to succeed.
