Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced professional with expertise in electrical infrastructure design to work closely with our Power Solutions and Engineering Design Managers. The successful candidate will conduct site inspections, develop detailed designs from concept to completion, and provide engineering services associated with land acquisition, infrastructure procurement, delivery, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and gather detailed information on power supply options, existing electrical infrastructure, underground services, and EV charger bay layouts.
  • Develop site inspection reports and associated materials to capture relevant data.
  • Work with the Engineering team to develop detailed designs from concept to IFC and collaborate with the NRMA Energy business units to deliver engineering services.
  • Provide desktop evaluations of candidate locations and support field inspection activities in coordination with the Acquisition team.
  • Review switchboards, both existing and new designs, to facilitate the deployment of EV charging assets.
  • Produce initial site plans based on site inspection reports and internal stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop design drawings to enable the best outcomes for proposed NRMA Energy installations.
  • Liaise with local contractors and agree on technical requirements needed for electrical power distribution equipment and EV charging stations.
  • Review detailed schematics from suppliers and address any required changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic, Controls Systems).
  • Qualified Electrician (even if only restricted) would be highly regarded.
  • 5+ years Engineering experience: Design of Electrical LV infrastructure, including switchboards.
  • Connection processes with DNSP's across all Australian jurisdictions.
  • AutoCAD expertise would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with multiple functions to deliver goals.
  • Ability to travel throughout Australia.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement, process efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Experience with EV charging stations would be advantageous but is not essential.
