Job Overview

We are seeking a Biosecurity Research Support Officer to join our team.

This role will provide professional support to groups working on pest animal programs and initiatives, ensuring the effective management of invasive species.

About This Opportunity

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, contributing to the advancement of biosecurity research and its application to real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice, research, analysis, and services associated with projects on vertebrate pest animal problems affecting primary industries and natural ecosystems.
  • Support the provision of clear, well-researched, and expert analyses, technical advice, scientific papers, briefings, and reports to support current NRM programs.
  • Contribute to delivering the agency's priorities, including stimulating growth and value, sustaining resources, and managing risk and recovery.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
  • Australian residency or current work permit required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • An appropriate Degree in Science, Natural Resource Management, Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in research, project management, and research data analysis.
