We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our team at Hudson Australia. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process and ensuring timely, accurate processing of invoices and payments.
You will have one direct report and work closely with various departments to maintain effective supplier relationships and streamline payment processes.
This is a permanent role looking to start ASAP based in West Perth, Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounts payable team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Review, verify, and approve invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and handle complex payment issues or inquiries.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Continuously improve AP processes and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Support internal and external audits related to accounts payable functions.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and leadership skills. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about finance and has a strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proven experience in an accounts payable role, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and experience with SAP or accounting software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and support a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Must have the rights to work in Australia and be willing to undertake a Criminal History Check.
