Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead our tax team and provide expert advice on complex transactions and business development.

This is a senior leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to implement practical solutions.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax guidance on international matters, including transfer pricing and permanent establishment.
  • Be involved in tax governance for our Australia & New Zealand operations.
  • Assist with FBT and GST inquiries from our business divisions and group functions as applicable.
  • Interact effectively with Senior Management, Business, and Group Finance.
  • Liaise with the ATO and other revenue authorities as required.
  • Monitor tax reform issues impacting our business in Australia & New Zealand and represent our interests at industry forums.
  • Work effectively with external advisors, including one of the Big 4, which undertakes our tax compliance services in Australia & New Zealand.
  • Review tax effect accounting calculations and tax workpapers for our Australia operations (prepared by either Finance or the Big 4 under our outsourcing arrangement).
  • Assist with preparation and review of our Australia & New Zealand operations' income tax returns.
  • Review our annual transfer pricing documentation for the Australian taxation groups and;
  • Review our Australia annual local files under country-by-country reporting rules.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant and/or legal qualifications.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience post-qualification.
  • Knowledge of financial services gained at a blue-chip financial services organization, one of the top-tier law firms or one of the Big Four accountancy firms.
  • Strong tax technical skills and knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Lateral thinking and ability to implement common sense practical solutions.
  • Ability to remediate existing issues and recommend and implement new processes.
  • Good stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
