Job Title: Payroll Specialist
About the RoleThe Payroll Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization with end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of payroll systems and regulations, particularly within the education sector or similar environments.
Key Responsibilities- Process fortnightly/monthly payroll accurately and in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Maintain payroll records and employee data, including new hires, terminations, leave entitlements, and contract changes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation.
- Assist in preparing payroll reports and reconciliations for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Calculate and process superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
- 2-3 years experience in payroll administration.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
