Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Lawyer to join our client's team in Canberra. The successful candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and litigation, with a proven track record of managing client portfolios and providing expert legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management
    • Manage a portfolio of clients and provide expert legal advice on a range of matters including insurance disputes, investigations, and interlocutory applications.
  • Legal Document Drafting
    • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, submissions, affidavits, and other various legal correspondence.
  • Court Representation
    • Attend court hearings and represent clients in litigation proceedings and negotiations.
  • Client Relationship Development
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • 1-2 years' post-admission experience in insurance or litigation.
  • Background
    • Plaintiff background will also be considered.
  • Skills
    • A broad range of exposure to insurance law, personal injury, liability claims, and litigation proceedings.
    • Passion and drive to learn and develop your skillset in the insurance field.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
    • A passion for the law and a desire to provide exceptional legal services to clients.
    • Experience or interest in personal injury claims or commercial litigation would be considered advantageous.
