IV&V Program Manager

ASC's submarine company is responsible for building and sustaining the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines. This challenging program requires a unique set of skills to successfully deliver the submarines' operational life extension. As an Integration, Validation & Verification Manager, you will lead the delivery of IV&V scope to the CCSM LOTE Program.

This role involves coordinating test stages across the globe, working with Industry and Defence stakeholders to deliver the CCSM LOTE Program from Factory Acceptance Testing to Sea Trials. You will be responsible for leading the IV&V program, including project planning, scheduling, resource, reporting, and budget management for allocated scope. Additionally, you will direct management of the ASC IV&V team, supporting recruitment, goal-setting, performance evaluation, and staff development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of IV&V scope to the CCSM LOTE Program
  • Provide leadership and coordination across teams and subcontractors during testing phases
  • Perform project planning, scheduling, resource, reporting, and budget management for allocated scope
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate technical and programmatic issues to ensure successful delivery
  • Direct management of the ASC IV&V team, supporting recruitment, goal-setting, performance evaluation, and staff development
  • Support ASC in developing ASC's IV&V capability
  • Prepare and deliver briefings to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor level qualifications in a relevant technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in System Engineering or Test & Evaluation (T&E) in a senior engineering role
  • Desirable: extensive submarine system, test development, and execution experience
  • Leadership experience through participation in or chairing Test Readiness Review Boards
  • Experience building and leading multi-discipline technical teams
  • Good understanding of product lifecycle, configuration management, product safety, seaworthiness, and engineering governance and assurance
  • Outstanding internal and external stakeholder management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligibility for Engineers Australia CPEng credentials

Additional requirements include a current National Police Clearance and Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
