Job Overview

The Australian Government is seeking a professional to fill the role of Assistant Director in the Export Standards Branch. The successful candidate will play a critical part in shaping Australia's food safety and animal health systems, ensuring that our agricultural exports meet international standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with government agencies, industry bodies, and stakeholders to negotiate market access for Australian animal products.
  • Provide specialist advice on animal health, biosecurity, and food safety matters.
  • Develop technical submissions and briefings to support market access negotiations.
  • Represent the department during engagement with international trading partners and Australian industry.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australia's food safety and/or animal health systems.
