Payroll Officer Job Description
">- The Payroll Officer will be responsible for delivering accurate, efficient end-to-end payroll services for approximately 150 employees on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
">- Process weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees across multiple awards and agreements.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and application of relevant awards and enterprise agreements.
- Liaise closely with the wider finance team and internal stakeholders to support seamless payroll operations.
- Act as the key point of escalation for complex payroll issues.
- Administer ad hoc payments and ensure timely statutory reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
">- Proven experience in high-volume payroll environments, ideally with exposure to shift work, overtime, and multiple industrial instruments.
- Strong understanding of award interpretation. Experience with relevant construction-related awards (e.g. Building and Construction or BEMS) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using various payroll systems; experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Comfortable managing challenging conversations and resolving payroll queries promptly and professionally.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
