About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Leader to lead and oversee all aspects of our cyber security program in Oceania. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive cyber security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect our digital infrastructure from evolving threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, assess potential impact, and prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.
  • Policies and Procedures: Establish and enforce cyber security policies, standards, and procedures to govern our information assets and infrastructure.
  • Audits and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits to validate the effectiveness of security controls and processes and address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on cyber security best practices, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular security awareness campaigns to reinforce a proactive security posture.
  • Staying Ahead: Identify potential risks and develop proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Architecture and Design: Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement secure architecture for our digital infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Emerging Threats: Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats, trends, and technologies to ensure the effectiveness of the security program.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage key stakeholders through open communication and discussions, serving as a central point of contact. Develop, maintain, and execute stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to foster effective collaboration and maintain strong relationships.
  • Cost Reduction: Seek cost reductions through consolidation and optimisation of resources and systems.
  • Cyber Security Strategy: Develop and execute a robust cyber security strategy aligned with our overall goals and objectives.
  • Reporting and Insights: Collates information and creates reports and insights to support strategy management processes.

Salary Range: $180,000 - $250,000 AUD per annum

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in cyber security management, including leading security programs in complex organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • In-depth understanding of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Proven experience in incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in shifting IT groups' maturity in governance, risk, compliance, and adherence to process.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging cyber threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Able to influence across a leadership team and adhere to the highest ethical standards.
  • Proven customer focus, interpersonal, and communications skills to ensure consistent messages are communicated to internal customers/stakeholders.
