Structural Metal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Metal Engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out aircraft sheet metal repairs and composite repairs, as well as assisting in corrosion/damage removal and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out aircraft sheet metal repairs IAW SAAB repair statements and SAAB SRM.
  • Carry out composite repairs IAW SAAB SRM and SAAB repair statements.
  • Assist in corrosion/damage removal & assessment.
  • Assist in development of improved structural repair processes & ICAs.
  • Maintain the company sheet metal tooling associated with the sheet metal workshop.
  • Assist in training of structural repair work & sheet metal practices.
  • Adhere to safety regulations.
  • Provide sheet metal support at other bases & in AOG events.
  • Complete a Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Structures.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in aircraft structural repairs.
  • Possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit a highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Demonstrate sound work ethics.
  • Meet the requirements to hold an Aviation Security Identity Card.

Preferred Selection Criteria:

  • Heavy maintenance experience.
  • NDI experience or approvals.
  • CASA B1 & A1 licence.
