Deep Learning Researcher

This position is a fantastic opportunity to lead the development of advanced deep learning frameworks and contribute to cutting-edge research in RNA-mediated gene regulation.

The successful candidate will design, implement, and optimize neural network architectures tailored to biological sequence and network data, with a particular focus on RNA-mediated gene interactions.

Applying interpretable machine learning techniques, you will integrate diverse biological datasets and identify key regulatory elements for further experimental validation.

Collaborating closely with experimental researchers, you will align modelling outputs with hypothesis-driven laboratory studies.

You will also supervise and/or co-supervise students working on computational biology and machine learning projects.

  • A PhD (or near completion) in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Proven expertise in machine learning and algorithm development, with advanced skills in deep learning methods such as graph neural networks, attention mechanisms, and multi-modal data integration is essential.
  • A working knowledge of RNA biology, including experience in modelling RNA isoform diversity or RNA–protein interactions is necessary.
  • A track record of independent research, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentations at scientific conferences is desirable.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising students in a research setting is beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a research environment are essential.
