The Role

As a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing our safety strategy, improving systems, and promoting wellbeing initiatives across two hospitals. You will partner with key stakeholders from executive leadership to operational leaders, driving continuous improvement through coaching, technical support, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety strategies and systems to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement on workplace health and safety.
  • Provide technical support and coaching to improve safety performance.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders at all levels, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislation and codes of practice related to workplace health and safety.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in workplace health and safety with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Industry experience in health, aged care, or education is preferred.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop programs, promote, and implement systems for delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and codes of practice related to workplace health and safety.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced conceptual and problem-solving skills with proven ability to use initiative effectively, planning, and prioritizing.
