Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Research and Development Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing innovative new products, processes, and improving existing products manufactured at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out new product development projects, including preparation of tentative formulations, sample prototypes, and physical analysis.
  • Source appropriate materials and contribute to the determination of COGs.
  • Formalize product specifications, provide technical input, and troubleshoot as required.
  • Research related scientific principles and develop innovative product concepts and processes.
  • Maintain a functional research and development laboratory and establish, nurture, and leverage key supplier relationships.
  • Track and metrics of NPD trials and projects.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in a Science or related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in product development, preferably in confectionary and nutraceuticals products and process development.
  • Technical ability and understanding in FMCG product development.
  • Product development processes from ideation to implementation.
  • Managing research and development aspects of projects.
  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret the Australian code of GMP.
  • A strong awareness of and commitment to safety management.
  • Time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced working level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MRP, and/or ERP systems.
  • High level of attention to detail, initiative, and strong work ethics.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organisation from shop floor to senior management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
