Render Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Render Supervisor to join our team at DNEG in Sydney, AU. As a key member of our Production Technology department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of final rendered images from 3D packages.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience at a supervisory level in the Visual Effects industry, with expertise in multiple lighting and rendering DCCs such as Katana and Solaris. Excellent Python programming skills and experience with path tracing renderers like Renderman, PRMan, and Mantra are also essential.

You will work closely with junior members of the Pipeline team, providing coaching, guidance, and mentoring. Additionally, you will train talented artists in relevant technology, techniques, and workflows to ensure they can do their jobs efficiently and creatively.

Above all, you will be at the heart of our award-winning Visual Effects and Feature Animation work, influencing the delivery of world-class shows and cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot critical rendering problems
  • Monitor and QC assets and lighting/lookdev set-ups
  • Design and write technical solutions for lighting and rendering requirements
  • Contribute to pipeline planning and testing
Requirements:
  • Proven supervisory experience in Visual Effects
  • Expertise in Katana, Solaris, and other lighting and rendering DCCs
  • Excellent Python programming skills
  • Experience with path tracing renderers like Renderman, PRMan, and Mantra
