AECOM is seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings and Places business line in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our building services team, you will lead the delivery of comprehensive mechanical design services across various sectors, including commercial, aviation, and healthcare.

This is an exceptional opportunity to expand your technical expertise by taking on Project Management responsibilities on select projects and actively identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.


About the Ideal Candidate


We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a strong understanding of Australian standards, codes, and legislation. Ideally, you will have 5+ years of experience in a Building Services consultancy or significant design expertise from working with a contractor or State Government department.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the delivery of comprehensive mechanical design services throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Expand your technical expertise by taking on Project Management responsibilities on select projects.
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation and oversee mechanical engineering components for major projects.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior engineers within the wider AECOM team.
