Cloud Infrastructure Development Engineer, Network Optimization Specialist

We're seeking a talented Optical Network Development Engineer to join our team, working on the rollout of large DWDM networks and optical network technologies. As part of our AWS Infrastructure team, you'll collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, operate, and roll out global DWDM networks
  • Drive scaling current DWDM designs to meet customer demand
  • Create processes to operate and build DWDM networks
  • Work closely with other Networking departments on new designs
  • Evaluate DWDM network adherence to defined network standards
  • Review and implement changes on the DWDM network
  • Develop operational excellence projects to drive improvements in DWDM network quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions daily

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl
  • 5+ years of experience with large DWDM networks and optical network technologies

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications.
