About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Officer to join our team at Wintringham. As a Recreation Officer, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs of our clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Recreation Coordinator in designing and delivering individualized recreation programs that meet the unique needs and goals of each client.
  • Collaborating with Program Managers, Recreation Coordinators, and other stakeholders to identify, plan, and promote recreation and lifestyle programs.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, their support networks, and family members to ensure the effective delivery of recreation programs.
  • Reviewing and developing documentation records and processes for funded services programs.
  • Maintaining a focus on independence while delivering recreation programs that promote everyday living skills and independence.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Lifestyle & Leisure or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of the Housing and Homelessness Service sector, My Aged Care, NDIS, and other relevant service systems.
  • Understanding of Recreation Principles and the importance of Leisure and Lifestyle outcomes, Diversional Therapy, or Recreation Therapy.
  • Current driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • First Aid Certificate II.
