Aquatic Education Coordinator Opportunity

This role requires an experienced and passionate Aquatic Education Coordinator to lead a team of swim teachers in delivering high-quality aquatic education to school groups.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching swimming and water safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and schools.

We are looking for someone who is energetic, dynamic, and fun, with a flair for working with children and a commitment to customer service excellence.

About You

You will have a passion for swimming and the progression of students. You should be outgoing and able to build positive working relationships with all the schools in the area.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures, and needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate centres' programs to achieve financial performance goals.
  • Lead the Swim Teachers to deliver aquatic education to school groups to the highest standard possible.
  • Build positive working relationships with all schools in the area.

Essential Criteria

  • AUSTSWIM Certificate (Teaching of water swimming and water safety or equivalent).
  • Previous experience leading a large casual workforce towards business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated business and/or marketing experience.
  • Previous experience leading/reporting/monitoring financial outcomes.
  • National Police Check.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • Level 2 First Aid and current CPR.
  • Legally entitled to work in Australia.
  • Pooled operations certificate desirable but not essential.

The Site

The Thomastown Recreation & Aquatic Centre is a large facility that includes an indoor lap pool, hydrotherapy pool, warm water pool, toddlers pool, gym, group exercise room, and sports court.

The centre also has an outdoor water park with great activities for kids complete with BBQ facilities.
