About the role

The Strategy Director will be responsible for developing transformative strategic thinking and ideas across a diverse range of high profile clients. This involves collaborating with teams across the agency to ensure strategies are brought to life in the most innovative, impactful way possible.

The successful candidate will drive the overall quality of product across the wider agency via training and coaching.

What success looks like:

In 3 months:

  • Exposure to client teams within WAVEMAKER and understanding their key planning and campaign cycles
  • Understanding the WAVEMAKER ANZ planning process and its intersection with WAVEMAKER Momentum
  • Established relationships with stakeholders and internal reports
  • Clear articulation of the agency and group proposition
  • Delivering strategic responses to client briefs and building rapport with clients
  • Familiarity with analytic projects in the works

In 6 months:

  • Mastery of the WAVEMAKER planning process and provision of guidance and training to client teams
  • Introduction to the wider WAVEMAKER network and building profile across the national strategy and analytics team in GroupM
  • Involved in at least one WAVEMAKER Momentum study
  • Becoming a trusted point of contact for key clients
  • Meaningful contribution to strategy responses for new business pitches

In 12 months:

  • Integral part of the WAVEMAKER new business team, providing pitch strategy work
  • Material contribution to the WAVEMAKER planning process, improving approaches to solving tough problems for clients
  • Thought leadership piece contributing to WAVEMAKER's profile amongst clients and the industry
  • Trusted point of contact for strategic and analytics advice across all WAVEMAKER staff
