Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a highly experienced Course Portfolio Manager to lead the development and delivery of our vocational education programs. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving course innovation, guiding strategic decisions on course development, continuation, and retirement, and ensuring our offerings align with industry needs, student demand, and the institution's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive course portfolio strategy that aligns with Melbourne Polytechnic's strategic objectives and operational needs.
  • Lead and coordinate the Course Portfolio Committee, guiding decisions on which courses should be developed, continued, improved, or retired.
  • Oversee the development of Melbourne Polytechnic's annual Program Delivery Plan, ensuring it aligns with the institution's strategic direction, addresses regulatory requirements, and meets the needs of industry and students.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure Melbourne Polytechnic remains a leader in delivering industry-relevant education.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and a strong understanding of the operating context of vocational education and higher education.
  • Possession of a valid Working with Children Check.
  • Proven experience in course development and delivery within a vocational education setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management, relationship building, and organisational change.
  • Strong analytical capabilities for evaluating opportunities, making strategic decisions, and solving complex problems.
  • High standard of oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with confidence and in an accessible way.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing work priorities.
