Job Description

This is a hands-on role, requiring some after-hours and weekend work. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling diverse and complex HR issues within a workforce comprising both white and blue-collar staff.

The role will encompass recruitment, employee relations, industrial relations, onboarding, employee lifecycle management, and work health and safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment, including advertising, interviewing, screening, and selecting.
  • Onboarding, including induction, paperwork, and training.
  • Managing the employee lifecycle.
  • Performance management.
  • Handling complex industrial relations matters.
  • Interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements (EAs).
  • Managing the WHS system, including risk assessments, JSAs, and investigations.
  • Coordinating training and development programs.
  • Creating and updating company policies and procedures.
  • Providing HR advice to managers.
  • Leading HR projects from start to finish.

This role does not offer remote work opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a HR role, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships. They will also have the ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize workload, intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access), keen attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative.

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources is essential. Proven experience in a similar position, strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are desirable attributes.
