Mental Health Team Leader

About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Team Leader to join our team in Hervey Bay. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Peer Workers and Mental Health Workers in providing support services to individuals with mental health issues.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Manager to implement programs, policies, and local procedures, as well as plan and coordinate projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing supervision and support to lower classified staff, facilitating discussions to understand individual needs and goals, and developing and monitoring individual plans to meet these needs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of Peer Workers and Mental Health Workers in providing support services to individuals with mental health issues.
- Work closely with our Manager to implement programs, policies, and local procedures.
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to lower classified staff.
- Facilitate discussions to understand individual needs and goals.
- Develop and monitor individual plans to meet these needs.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A relevant Certificate IV or above in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years experience working in the community in a mental health setting.
- A strong commitment to and advanced understanding of recovery-based practice in the workplace.
- Excellent knowledge of the local area and its health services and other community services.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role and in providing support and/or supervision to lower classified staff.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and data information management systems.
- A personal lived experience of a mental health issue (if applicable).
- Maintain a current Australian Driver's Licence.
