Advanced Orthopaedic Robotics Expert

This role presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with surgeons and theatre staff in advancing orthopaedic surgery through the application of cutting-edge robotic technology.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong clinical background to serve as the in-theatre expert for Mako-assisted procedures, providing technical and clinical guidance to ensure optimal use of the Mako robotic platform during joint replacement surgeries.

About the Role
  • Collaborate closely with surgical teams to enhance their proficiency in using the Mako robotic system, ensuring seamless integration into their workflow.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative CT-based planning and segmentation to assist in surgical case preparation, maximising the benefits of robotic technology.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in orthopaedic surgical techniques, anatomy, and robotic technology, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements.
  • Deliver comprehensive training and clinical support to hospital staff and surgical teams, enhancing their skills and confidence in using the Mako system.
  • Travel across Sydney and surrounding areas to provide support at multiple hospital sites, promoting efficient collaboration and communication.
Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in orthopaedic clinical support, biomedical science, or a related field, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Orthopaedic clinical experience, preferably in a hospital or operating theatre setting.
  • Strong understanding of anatomical structures and surgical techniques, with a focus on joint replacement procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to resolving complex issues.
  • Familiarity with medical devices and equipment, particularly robotic systems.
