Electrical Specialist Position Overview

The Senior Plant Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of power station assets with emphasis on electrical integrity and instrumentation accuracy.

This position requires a strong understanding of condition monitoring, rotating equipment, and control systems in power generation or heavy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain power station assets safely and effectively.
  • Prioritize personnel safety and ensure compliance with technical, environmental, and commercial standards.
  • Lead Permit to Work processes for all power station activities.
  • Manage plant outages and support project works involving electrical systems and control instrumentation.
  • Coordinate and manage High Voltage assets on site such as transformers, generators and protection systems.
  • Champion systems such as HSEC, PTW, CMMS, SCADA, Management of Change and DCS, with a focus on electrical and instrumentation reliability.
  • Participate in the site on-call roster and provide after-hours technical support.
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Trade Certificate in Electrical Fitting & Instrumentation, or equivalent.
  • Experience in steam or gas turbine operation and maintenance.
  • Advanced skills in SAP CMMS, with experience in managing work orders, inventory and purchasing.
  • Experience with SCADA, DCS and Historian systems for monitoring and control.
  • Proven experience with Permit to Work and safe access systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
