Job Title: Power Generation Engineer

The role involves guiding purposeful work that supports the future of the energy sector.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Empowering energy transformation through direct engagement and support to clients in developing power generation, energy storage, and network operation projects
  • Collaborating across disciplines to explore creative solutions to system needs
  • Providing insights with care by sharing well-informed guidance that supports confident, inclusive decision-making
  • Supporting the energy transition by contributing to renewable and firming technologies including storage, solar, wind while maintaining the reliability of the grid
  • Improving systems mindfully by using thoughtful techniques to understand performance and identify areas for positive change
  • Underpinning team growth and development by supporting the Aurecon team through effective management, training and business development activities

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge combined with empathy and big-picture thinking
  • Ability to bring innovation to complex problems using problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering and registration as a RPEQ
  • Alignment with many of the Aurecon Attributes – co-creative, commercial, engaging, fearless, inquisitive, resourceful, sense maker, and unconventional thinker
  • A willingness to travel with the possibility of taking on a site role
  • At least 15 years post-graduation experience in a role with close contact with the power industry, consulting, or power project developer/owner/operator
  • Knowledge and understanding of the control systems of large-scale power generation plants
  • A strong business acumen and experience in a consulting environment
