Civil Construction Plant Operations Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship provides the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in a nationally recognised course of training through on-the-job working experience and training with an employer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out measurements and calculations accurately
  • Perform manual excavation, spreading and compacting materials efficiently
  • Conduct basic levelling tasks
  • Handle resources and infrastructure materials safely
  • Dispose of non-toxic materials responsibly
  • Operate small plants and equipment effectively
  • Drain and dewater civil construction sites correctly

Essential Criteria for Success:

  • Commitment to developing skills and knowledge
  • Able to listen, follow instructions and ask for assistance when required
  • Punctuality and ability to make a positive contribution to the workplace
  • Act responsibly and safely in the workplace at all times
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues
  • Complete timesheets correctly and on-time

Apprenticeship Requirements:

  • Adhere to the terms and conditions of the Training Contract
  • Complete relevant inductions
  • Perform work in a satisfactory manner
  • Commit to and complete the Training Plan within allocated timeframe
  • Comply with relevant registration and legislation
