Electrical Engineer for Sustainability and Infrastructure

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Sustainability and infrastructure are key components of our business. As an electrical engineer in this role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering electrical infrastructure projects across our organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and specifying electrical infrastructure systems to support broadcast operations
  • Providing engineering support to project managers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conducting commissioning and acceptance activities in accordance with our standards and test procedures
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of strategic maintenance and asset evaluation programs covering main and standby power systems assets
  • Reviewing electrical system designs for compliance and suitability for purpose
  • Undertaking supply authority liaison to facilitate delivery of network growth projects
  • Investigating and prioritizing network issues as submitted by field teams and other stakeholders
  • Providing subject matter expertise and technical assistance across the organization
  • Inspecting our facilities and other field operations as required

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Additional certifications in fire detection systems, emergency power systems, or renewable energy technologies are highly regarded
  • A valid Australian full driver's licence is required, and you must be capable of independently driving to and from work sites as needed
  • Understanding of the electrical regulations and statutory requirements, including competence with electrical design and AS/ NZS 3000
  • Experience in multiple aspects of commercial electrical work, with previous experience with or exposure to renewable and standby power generator systems, UPS systems, source transfer switching, metering, switchboards, earthing, surge protection, and associated controls systems
  • On-site commissioning activity experience is required
  • You will have working knowledge with AutoCAD and PowerCAD
  • Proficiency in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of fire detection systems, with a thorough understanding of compliance requirements is required
