About the Role

This is a full-time, non-permanent position that primarily involves telework, with occasional in-office meetings or events. The successful candidate will embody the agency's values of integrity, kindness, equity, and inclusion, and will have a proven track record of providing excellent customer service to individuals from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and beliefs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and policy/procedure clarification and consultation on various types of initial claims, continued claims, and adjudication issue cases.
  • Assist new claims center staff during onboarding and provide coaching and mentoring to staff of varying abilities regarding law, policy, and procedures.
  • Work with the Enterprise Claims Center Manager to plan strategies and implement new approaches to the workload.
  • Research potential solutions and make recommendations to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Complete call monitoring and web notice reviews for intake staff, as well as Training Quality Reviews and Quality Reviews for adjudication staff.
  • Review adjudication decisions for content, DOL requirements, law and policy, and ensure thorough fact-finding.
  • Score content for local and federal requirements and provide continuous feedback on written determinations to adjudicators to ensure they meet the Federal Benefit Timeliness and Quality (BTQ) Standard.
Requirements
  • A combination of education and/or relevant experience equivalent to eight (8) years, which includes professional unemployment insurance claims processing and adjudication experience.
  • OR: One (1) year of experience as a Benefits Specialist 1 or 2 (previously UIS 2, 3, or 4).
  • Education to Experience Equivalences:
    • Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years
  • Applicable degrees include:
    • Social Science | Public or Business Administration | Or Related field
  • Additional Requirement of Employment:
    • Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
