Job Title:

Safety and Security Equipment Specialist

The role of the Safety and Security Equipment Specialist is pivotal in maintaining the appropriate storage, documentation, and disposal of safety and security equipment, ensuring adherence to established procedures and standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement, issue, and disposal of keys, ammunition, chemical agents, and other security equipment
  • Coordinate the issue and receipt of weapons, ammunition, chemical agents, keys, and safety and security equipment
  • Evaluate strict guidelines for the procurement and safe storage of weapons, ammunition, and security equipment
  • Foster collaboration with external agencies to ensure compliance with safety and security equipment matters
  • Support and participate in systems assurance and compliance reviews

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement, storage, handling, maintenance, and disposal of weapons, ammunition, chemical agents, safety and security equipment
  • Implement departmental processes to manage the issue and use of all keys within the correctional facility
  • Provide counsel to management on compliance risk and obligations
  • Ensure operational readiness and administration of safety and security equipment
  • Monitor compliance across the facility in relation to required standards
