Senior Water and Waste Technical Officer

Mareeba Shire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Water and Waste Technical Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Water and Waste group, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with legislation for water and waste-related contracts and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical, operational, and project delivery support to ensure efficient and effective water and waste services.
- Develop and implement program planning and asset management strategies for the Water and Waste section.
- Assist in the implementation of activities related to the Queensland waste levy, drinking water quality management, and referable dam safety management systems.
- Critically review technical data and prepare reports for Council and other correspondence.
- Monitor and report on data related to waste and water services.
- Tertiary qualification in science, an environmental field, or a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role in waste, water, or a related industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and databases.
- Temporary, full-time position for a period of maternity leave.
- LGOA Level 5/1 salary.
