About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team at Lawson Elliott. As a leading provider of accounting services, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional results for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance work, with a minimum of 2 years experience in public practice. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance documents for small to medium businesses.

Your expertise in Xero and MYOB software will be essential in this role. You will also be required to assist our Partners/Managers with research on tax issues for special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
  • Preparation of BAS, IAS, & Payroll tax
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts, GST, and PAYG withholding
  • Responding to client queries and managing communication with the ATO on their behalf
  • Preparation of clear and concise work papers
  • Assisting Partners/Managers with research on tax issues for special projects
Requirements
  • Currently qualified or studying CA/CPA (or looking to commence)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in public practice with a strong grounding in compliance work for different business clients
  • Sound communication skills with ability to respond to client queries over phone and email
  • Seeking a long-term career move in a boutique firm
