This group is instrumental in maintaining a robust and sustainable economy for NSW by assessing financial risks and developing strategies and policies. They are responsible for preparing and delivering the annual State Budget and Half-Yearly Review, ensuring the state's financial health remains strong.

The Budget Reform and Projects team is dedicated to continuous improvement, working collaboratively with colleagues across Treasury and the sector to identify opportunities for budget reform. This team ensures that policies and processes adhere to best practices and support the Government's fiscal objectives.

As a Policy and Budget Advisor, you will conduct research, analysis, and provide policy advice on public sector budget management and performance. You will have an invaluable opportunity to create a positive impact for the people of New South Wales while developing and growing your own skills.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification or professional experience in public policy, economics, accounting, finance, law, or another related field.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing and interpreting financial and non-financial data to identify trends or anomalies.
  • Strong ability to communicate policy analysis and advice (verbally and in writing).
