About the Role

Nexus Community Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our Community Access team in Kingston Dowsing. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients to access their community, build their capacity, and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Ability to relate to clients as participating members of society
  • Ability to build rapport with a wide range of people
  • Willingness to learn and maintain a positive, open mindset
  • Effective communication skills, including written, verbal, and non-verbal
  • Understanding of the NDIS and its impact on clients and families
  • Ability to manage emergency situations and stress
  • Demonstrated positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities
  • Ability to assist in the implementation of training programs for clients
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Support and trauma, including Trauma-Informed Practice (desirable)
