Emergency Department Administration Officer

This role involves performing administrative functions in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to support effective patient care. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department, registering, admitting, and financially electing them accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate should have strong customer service skills with relevant experience managing a diverse clientele. They should also possess capacity to retain and apply knowledge of patient revenue and fee management including the use and benefits of private health insurance in the public health system. A proven attention to detail with a very high level of accuracy when working with a range of computer systems and administrative processes is required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration, admission, and financial election of patients.
  • Accurate and efficient administration of patient data.
  • Maintenance of accurate records and reports.
Working Arrangements
  • A variety of shifts, including morning, afternoon, evening, overnight, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
  • Availability to work 3+ days per week, minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Ability to work a 24/7 roster.
  • Participation in an on-call roster for urgent coverage.
