Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Specialist to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting new business, renewals and endorsements within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Provide professional and market leading service to clients, ensuring a high degree of accuracy when processing transactions and service delivery standards are met.
  • Support senior colleagues with signing off referrals of team members with lower delegated authority limits, providing meaningful and constructive feedback.
  • Develop a sound understanding of the various portfolio performance/monitoring metrics shared by the Product Management team.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in underwriting, broking or related role.
  • Proven expertise in underwriting, insurance principles and product knowledge.
  • Experience in or exposure to agriculture preferred.
  • AQF Certificate IV in General Insurance (FNS41415) or AQF Diploma of General Insurance (FNS51115).
  • Strong business acumen with proven capability to both analyse and use data to inform decision making.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Contributes positively to the team environment.
