We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in rural and emergency care to join our team at Collarcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and effective nursing care to patients in rural and emergency settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in rural and emergency settings, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Utilize the integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) system for accurate patient documentation and information management.
- Collaborate with medical and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and symptoms, providing timely and accurate updates to healthcare teams.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Educate patients and families on health management and care procedures, promoting empowerment and self-care.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
- Demonstrated experience in rural nursing and emergency care, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these settings.
- Proficiency in using the ieMR system, with experience in accurate patient documentation and information management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing patient needs and collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
- Current ALS, BLS, Resus, and Triage certificates, as well as Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK) training.
- Manual and patient handling skills, with experience in infection control and aggressive behavior management.
- Mandatory reporting skills, with a strong understanding of child abuse and neglect protocols.
- Medications management skills, including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations knowledge.
- AHPRA Registration and Australian National Police Check, with a valid Australian Immunisation History.
