About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in a rural setting.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in rural nursing and emergency care, including triage, and will be capable of leading a team when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in a rural and emergency care setting.
  • Perform triage and assess patient needs to prioritize care effectively.
  • Lead and coordinate nursing activities, especially when working as the sole Registered Nurse on shift.
  • Administer pediatric life support and handle emergent pediatric cases with competence.
  • Assist with imminent birthing situations and provide appropriate care and support.
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems to document patient information accurately and manage medical records efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in rural and emergency nursing.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in rural nursing and emergency care.
  • Proven triage skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Experience or capability to lead a team, including working independently as the sole Registered Nurse on shift.
  • Knowledge and experience with imminent birthing preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
  • Certification in Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
  • BLS and ALS competency.
  • Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK).
  • Manual and patient handling.
  • Infection control.
  • Aggressive behavior management.
  • Mandatory reporting by Registered Nurses, and/or Midwives for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect.
  • Medications management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations.
  • AHPRA Registration (must be current).
  • Australian working rights.
  • Updated Australian Immunisation History.
  • National Police Check.
