
Pathology Collection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Enrolled Nurse to join our dynamic team in the role of Blood Collector. This permanent part-time position is an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- To provide a customer-focused pathology collection service for inpatients and outpatients.
- To perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to blood collection and haematological investigations as required.
- To participate in all collection roles as required.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification for administration of medication (including intravenous medication administration).
- A customer-focused approach with well-developed interpersonal and written/oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical staff.
- Previous venepuncture experience; familiarity with pathology terminology and requirements; willingness to learn paediatric and neonatal blood collections.
- Ability to display initiative, problem solve and apply established principles in a pathology setting; investigate and resolve general and complex issues.
- Knowledge and experience in delivery of pathology services, including use of Patient, Rostering and Quality systems.
- Commitment to quality management and continuous quality improvement; ability to identify and implement quality and service improvement activities.
