About The Opportunity

NSW Health Pathology has an exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to join our Wollongong Hospital team in a permanent part-time capacity. Being part of NSW Health Pathology means helping create better health and justice systems every day. We operate over 60 laboratories and 200 collection centres across NSW, conducting over 60 million tests annually.

You will work in the collection department at Wollongong Public Hospital, which also services inpatients at Shellharbour, Bulli, and Coledale Public Hospitals. Our home collection service covers the Illawarra region from Helensburgh to Kiama. The role involves morning shifts and participation in a seven-day rotating roster.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing a customer-focused pathology collection service for inpatients and outpatients
  • Performing venipuncture and related blood collection duties
  • Participating in all collection roles as required
Eligibility and Application

Applicants should address the following:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
  • Qualification approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for medication administration, including intravenous medications
  • Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous venipuncture experience and familiarity with pathology terminology
  • Willingness to learn paediatric and neonatal blood collections
  • Initiative, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience with Patient, Rostering, and Quality systems
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous improvement
