Job Description

The Marine Rescue Implementation team provides program support to progress the transition to an integrated statewide marine search and rescue volunteer capability. We assist with planning and delivering future integrated service outcomes, working closely with stakeholders to explore options and provide strategic advice for the development of an integrated volunteer marine search and rescue service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Managing policy development and coordinating the implementation of major projects, including analysing performance information to achieve strategic program initiatives.
  • Providing evidence-based policy advice and support on strategic policy and legislation issues through research; liaising with stakeholders; drafting briefs, submissions and correspondence; working with the program team and other stakeholders to develop policy and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
  • Leading and managing a small team, providing direction, and monitoring progress of projects and programs that contribute to meeting the policy, doctrine and other resource needs of the marine rescue implementation program.
  • Providing high-level advice in relation to issues affecting relevant policy and procedures, and developing innovative strategies and solutions that support quality business outcomes and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience in developing new doctrine (policies, procedures, instructions) in a state government environment or qualifications in a related discipline.
  • A collaborative working style, with the ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues, and experience working in a fast-paced program or project environment.
