Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

Emanate Technology is a dynamic tech company that focuses on open-source data collection and analysis. We're currently recruiting for a Senior Security Consultant to join our team.
The RoleAs a Senior Security Consultant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our organisation's compliance with regulatory standards, managing risk, and implementing effective security governance.
You will develop and manage Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks, ensuring security measures align with industry best practices and legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct security reviews for system changes, vendor engagements, and procurement activities, providing detailed risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and manage Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulations and industry standards such as the ISM, ISO 27001, and NIST.
- Draft and implement security policies, procedures, and compliance documents to ensure the organisation meets its security obligations.
- Support internal audits and risk assessments, providing clear recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities and non-compliance.
- Lead the creation of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address findings from security audits and ensure timely remediation.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure compliance with security frameworks and contribute to continuous improvement of security practices.
- Assist in incident response efforts, providing GRC-focused recommendations and ensuring alignment with risk management strategies.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in GRC best practices, helping them develop their skills in risk management and security governance.
- NV1 clearance
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity
- Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Risk Management, or a related field
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer highly regarded
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (ISM, ISO 27001, NIST) and risk management processes
- Experience developing and managing compliance documentation, risk assessments, and security audits
- Understanding cloud Security such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate security and risk issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, with strong organisational and time management skills
- A proactive mindset, with a keen interest in staying up to date with the latest developments in cybersecurity and compliance
