Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Claims Treatment Specialist to join our team. As part of our diverse and innovative team based in Sydney, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life every day.

The Claims Treatment Specialist role requires utilising your expertise as a community pharmacist to advise on medication, communicate with injured workers and doctors, and collaborate with prescribers to ensure safe and appropriate treatment.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice, optimising medication plans, supporting recovery in line with regulatory requirements, and educating stakeholders and operational team members on medication-related issues.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires someone who is flexible, proactive and committed to refining processes for continuous improvement.

This will be a full-time position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management.
  • Assess high-risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies.
  • Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation.
  • Educate injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks.
  • Identify the need for and refer to external services like Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations.
  • Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is essential for this role.
  • Current registration in a professional field.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical practice.
  • Well-established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice.
  • An understanding and experience in the personal injury industry, ideally with knowledge of workers compensation legislation would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
