About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Management Professional to join our team in Queensland, Australia. As a key member of our Water Group's Asset Management and Planning (AMP) team, you will play a critical role in enhancing our capabilities and delivering projects that benefit our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Contingency and Rehabilitation Strategies: Create and implement contingency and rehabilitation strategies and plans, operational procedures, asset class plans, renewal, capital expenditure, and whole-of-life asset costing schedules and business case development.
  2. Asset Register Development: Develop and maintain asset registers, including asset numbering and naming conventions.
  3. Asset Condition Assessments: Conduct asset condition assessments, including qualitative desktop assessments, quantitative field works (destructive and non-destructive testing), stress analysis (such as FEA), and statistical analysis (such as Weibull estimations) for asset types including:
  • Pipe materials and channel types
  • Concrete and steel structures
  • Pump stations
Risk Assessments and Root Cause Analysis: Implement risk assessments, root cause analysis, FMECA, failure mode, and failure mechanism analysis.Project Management: Apply project management skills to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Water Balance and Economic Level of Leakage: Assess water balance and economic level of leakage using non-revenue models.Asset Reliability Analyses: Conduct asset reliability analyses to optimize maintenance schedules and water network operations.Geographical Information Systems: Apply geographical information systems and associated platforms (i.e., MapInfo and ArcGIS) to support asset management activities.Advanced Analytics and Optimisation Modelling: Apply advanced analytics and optimisation modelling techniques to support asset management decision-making.About You
  1. Tertiary Qualification: Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. Relevant Experience: Possess proven relevant asset management experience, with engineering consulting experience an advantage.
  3. Hydraulic Principles and Materials Assessment: Demonstrate an excellent understanding of hydraulic principles, materials assessment, and pipe materials knowledge.
  4. Australian Utility Sector Experience: Previous experience in the Australian utility sector is an advantage.
  5. Concrete Assessment and Rehabilitation: Possess excellent knowledge of concrete assessment, deterioration mechanisms, inspection techniques, and rehabilitation strategies.
  6. Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing quality technical reports.
  7. Statistical and Data Analytics Skills: Possess strong statistical and data analytics skills to support asset management decision-making.
  8. Time Management and Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate excellent time management practices and commercial awareness to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  9. Organisational Cultural Values and Ethics: Align with WSP's organisational cultural values and ethics.
  10. Team Player: Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver projects and achieve organisational goals.
