About Our Disability Support Role

At our organisation, we provide early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 6,000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential.

The Job

As a Disability Support Worker based at Port Pirie, you'll play a vital role in planning and providing responsive client and family-centred service, offering Hub and In-Home supports. You'll use your knowledge and experience supporting people with physical and intellectual disabilities to promote independence, community participation, and meaningful relationships in a safe and supportive environment.

You'll interpret and respond to clients' communication needs, health care plans, and mealtime guidelines, administer medication, and document observations. Your contribution will be vital in helping clients reach their full potential and independence goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpreting and responding to clients' communication needs, health care plans, and mealtime guidelines
  • Administering prescribed medication and maintaining accurate records
  • Documenting observations and contributing to the development of individualised plans
  • Providing support and assistance to clients with daily tasks and activities
  • Engaging with clients, families, and colleagues through excellent verbal and written communication skills
