About the Role

As a Safety, Health, and Sustainability Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the business units comply with group HSE standards and statutory obligations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance audits are completed and action plans are developed and executed.
  • Mentoring and coaching site Supervisors to implement SHEMS effectively.
  • Collating reports on incidents, safety statistics, and lead and lag indicators.
  • Assisting in conducting accident/incident investigations and ensuring investigations are entered into the online incident management system.
  • Participating in OHS committees and forums to ensure sites are meeting group standards and the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Providing input to the State Safety Manager on system improvements and initiatives.
  • Reviewing contractor Safety plans and submissions to ensure compliance with Qube requirements.
  • Implementing Qube safety strategies and developing site safety plans.
  • Leading risk assessment processes and developing plans to minimize risks.
  • Working closely with the State SHE Manager to ensure corporate governance processes are implemented.
  • Managing Qube's environmental management system and ensuring compliance audits are undertaken.
  • Providing advice and support on vehicle access regimes, route planning, and driver assessment processes.
  • Managing return-to-work cases in conjunction with the State SHE Coordinator.
  • Developing and reviewing specific SWI/SWMS as required.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Previous transport industry experience (preferred but not required).
  • Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment.
  • Environmental qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Training/Auditing qualifications would be well regarded.
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
  • Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution.
  • Reliable, team player, with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong data entry and accuracy.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organisation skills.
  • Focused and compliant with all safe work practices.
